Deposit Dispute

Deposit disputes are one of the most common tenancy problems.

Very often, at the end of the tenancy, tenants do not receive the full deposit on time. We understand that tenants may not have enough time to handle the dispute while relocating, and you have to study or work. Our experienced residential housing solicitor can help you. By acting on your behalf, we are able to minimise the proposed deposit deduction and fight any unfair deduction.

We will firstly have a 60-minute consultation to review all paperwork, most importantly the tenancy agreement, the prescribed information, the deposit certificate, and inventory reports.

We will then list all unreasonable and/or unfair deductions and confirm our dispute strategy with you before we start to negotiate with your landlord/agent.

Three formal notice letters drafted by us will be sent out by post and email before the legal proceedings. About 90% tenants will receive the deposit at this stage.

Should you have any difficulties in getting your deposit back, we can help.
